2003 Annual CHA
Report
In
2003, Project Hope helped 23,499 people and more than 7,800 families with
a variety of services and programs. It provided 6,050 families with food,
254 with utilities help and 151 with transportation; gave away 286,385
pounds of food and 1,077 coats; and provided 2,887 nights of housing and
2,881 counseling hours. With very minimum administrative staff costs and a
volunteer force of more than 100 people putting in 22,681 hours, your
financial support is used in a most effective and efficient way, far above
the "nonprofit industry standard." Without the compassionate and generous
spirit of this community, we would not be able to reach as far as we do
with our works of mercy and grace to help our needy neighbors. Thanks
again for helping Project Hope with your support. God bless each one of
you who had a part in this ministry of hope!

Project Hope Says
Thanks
Project Hope thanks the community once again for its generous and
compassionate spirit of giving to the Christmas food and toy distribution
this year. More than 299 families were helped with special food baskets
for Christmas dinner, and the "Angel of Hope Tree" toy program helped more
than 1500 kids with toys and other gifts. Special thanks go to all the
volunteers who time and energy and love to make sure our needy neighbors
had a better Christmas, the city of Lynden for giving permission to use
the old city library for the Angel of Hope toys, Judy and Doug Knudson for
16 faithful years of organizing the Angel of Hope toy program, the local
schools for their hard work of collecting food, coats and money for the
food bank, and local churches and businesses, which put of the Angel Trees
and took special Thanksgiving and Christmas offerings this year for needy
people. And thanks to the citizens of Lynden and surrounding communities
who model a lifestyle of "compassion in action" for the less fortunate in
our neighbor hoods. God bless you all.
