Lynden - A
Little Bit of Holland
 If
you want a taste of Holland, but do not want to leave the USA,
Lynden is the place to visit. Many businesses in Lynden sport a
Dutch motif, with Dutch style architecture, and sell authentic
Dutch goods. In Lynden you can dine in restaurants that serve
delicious, authentic Dutch food, buy fresh baked goods in a Dutch
bakery, and even stay overnight in a four story windmill (pictured
on the right).
Located in the
beautiful Nooksack River Valley in the northwestern corner of
Washington State, Lynden is approximately 100 miles north of
Seattle and 50 miles south of Vancouver BC. Birch Bay and
Bellingham Bay, both at sea level, are less than a half hour away
to the west and magnificent 9000 foot Mount Baker and the Cascade
Mountain Range are a half hour to the east. The US - Canadian
border is just five miles north of the city.
Lynden is
surrounded by farms and many local businesses are directly related
to agriculture.
Lynden has
a population of about 10,000 people.
