Project Hope

Aiding Families in Need

Helping the poor and disenfranchised feel good at their point of need is the mission of the Project Hope. Project Hope has for 34 years, provided crucial safety net and development services to Whatcom County residents from a Christian perspective.

Project Hope has aided families lacking basic necessities, closing the gap of need for nutrition, housing, utilities, transportation, medical and clothing. We also work for the disadvantaged by leading our community to build on its own capacity to solve problems.

Project Hope exists to help build community. We define community as “human relationships held together by relational ties, living out a common purpose, through common participation.”

We are attempting to work toward this goal through our personal and corporate service, in such a way that will promote genuine community under the care of God. We work to aid individuals and families to serve one another. We work to aid and call our neighbors to use the strength and resources of their community, to bless those who have few resources.

We hope to lead and encourage our community to work together to accomplish their dreams, solve their problems, and bless others with their faith and service.

2007 Annual Report

In 2007, Project Hope helped 21,985 individuals with food  and more than 12,892 families with a variety of services and programs. 319,560 pounds of food were distributed. Details.

Sprinkle Your Community
with a Little Hope

Right now 35 million Americans aren't even sure where they will get their next meal. Imagine not knowing how where, or even when you will eat your next meal. More.

Project Hope Hours

The Project Hope office is open five days per week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for basic needs assistance requests. Details.

Seamen Need Magazines

The Seamen Center is getting low on some of the more popular devotional and sports-type magazines. Seamen appreciate these since they get off the ships so seldom. If you have any from the year 2000 or newer, please drop them off at the Project Hope office on south B.C. Street in Lynden on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. The seamen thank you.
