Our Volunteers - Servants of Mercy, Service and Kindness

The strength of our ministry rests directly upon the number of dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy and love, in service to the less fortunate, and all to the glory of the Lord Jesus. We have over 50 regular volunteers who gather at our 205 South BC Avenue site (Project Hope). Over at the Hope Chest (our clothing thrift store) there are over 100 faithful and hardworking volunteers.

Our Director - Servant of Mission, The Word, Counsel and Administration

Jim Grennell

Our Executive Director is Jim Grennell. He oversees the operation of: Project Hope, the Hope Chest, the Seamen's Visitation ministry, and the Christian Hope Association. Besides the multi-varied administrative roles he performs in these areas, Jim works closely with families and individuals who face crisis or on-going situations that beleaguer their lives.

His goal is to develop a ministry base of care support in the north Whatcom County area, such that there is a team of volunteers, acting as Mercy Ministers, who stand with those who are poor-in-spirit or poor-in-means. His prayer is that the local Body of Christ will rise up with feet of readiness, arms of care, heads of wisdom and hearts of compassion -- so to bring whole healing to the whole person.

Jim , who is an ordained elder in the Free Methodist Church, also serves as volunteer Associate Pastor of the Light and Life Christian Fellowship in Bellingham, WA where he is worship leader and adult Sunday School Director.

Our Board of Directors

Currently, our Board of Directors are Christians from seven north Whatcom County Christian Reformed Churches. Our new Constitution, however, calls for the addition of up to seven more churches of any distinction within Whatcom County Currently we are dialoguing with several non-CR churches, hoping they may join in our mission work. As well, our ministries are composed of people from many different forms of Christian faith.
