Single mothers carry an extraordinary burden, often balancing work, childcare, and daily survival with little support. As Christians, we are called to stand beside them, offering encouragement, resources, and love. Scripture reminds us in James 1:27 that true religion is caring for *“orphans and widows in their distress”*—a call to uplift those who face hardship, including the many women raising children alone.

Motherhood was never meant to be a solitary journey. In biblical times, families and communities surrounded mothers with help, yet today, many single moms struggle in isolation. Financial instability, exhaustion, and the pressure to meet every need can be overwhelming. But as the Church, we can reflect God’s heart by offering practical support, whether through mentorship, childcare, financial assistance, or simply being present.

Jesus consistently elevated the marginalized, including women who faced societal hardships. When we support single mothers, we affirm their worth and remind them that they are not alone. Galatians 6:2 tells us to “carry each other’s burdens,” and few burdens are heavier than raising children without a strong support system.

By standing with single moms, we build stronger families, restore hope, and demonstrate the love of Christ in action. Every mother deserves to know she is seen, valued, and not forgotten—and every child deserves to grow up surrounded by a community that cares.
