Founded over 50 years ago, Christian Hope Association (formerly the Laymen’s League of Evangelism) began as a grassroots effort to meet local needs. Today, CHA continues this mission through impactful programs like Project Hope and New Way Ministries.

Milestones

1986

Year of incorporation with the State of Washington as a registered non-profit organization.

The Laymen’s League for Evangelism changes name to Christian Hope Association (CHA).

2000

2003

New Way Ministries opens its doors and begins its housing program for single moms and their children.

Great Expectations Maternity Home assimilates into New Way Ministries.

2013

2024

Full facility ownership of our building on B.C. Ave marks a 24-year journey of expansion,enabling us to grow both of our core programs of Project Hope & New Way Ministries.

Legacy

Our history highlights milestones showcasing unwavering commitment to Lynden and Whatcom County. From weekly grocery distributions to providing safe shelter for hundreds of families, CHA’s legacy is one of enduring service.
