Our Program

Phase 1

Phase 1 is the heart of New Way’s program and the starting point for every woman who comes to live with us.
Over the course of six months, we invite each mother to step away from the pressures of work and school so she can fully focus on the foundational components of healing, rebuilding, and creating a safe, stable future for herself and her children.

This time is devoted to building a felt sense of safety and trust, strengthening parent-child connections, and nurturing personal growth and life skills. To support each residents journey, we provide in-house daycare during the four required 90-minute classes each week—ensuring every mother has the space and support she needs to thrive.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is where hope turns into momentum, as each woman begins actively shaping her future.
Building on the healing and growth from Phase 1, this phase can last up to 18 months and offers a supportive, stable environment where residents take their next steps forward—adding at least 20 hours per week of work or school into their routines.

While pursuing education or employment, participants continue developing and practicing vital life and relational skills—like budgeting, time management, and healthy communication. Community involvement also becomes an important part of this phase, helping each woman feel connected, valued, and established with a support network that will bolster lasting stability.

Phase 3

Phase 3—known as Next Steps—offers a bridge to lasting independence for families who need a little more time and support.
Available by invitation, this graduate program is designed for women who have completed Phases 1 and 2 and would benefit from extended time to reach their personal and financial goals.

Over the course of 1 to 2 additional years, participants live in one of seven self-contained apartments on our campus, transitioning into a more independent lifestyle while still remaining connected to the support of the New Way community.

To qualify for Next Steps, residents must be working or attending school full-time, or balancing a combination of part-time work and education. This phase provides the space, structure, and encouragement needed to solidify stability and confidently move forward into self-sustained living.

Interested in Applying?

New Way Ministries does not provide emergency housing placement. If you are interested in applying for our program, please call us at 360-354-9930 to complete a Screening Questionnaire over the phone.

Once your Screening Questionnaire is completed and a staff member confirms that you meet our eligibility criteria, you will be added to our waiting list. During this time, we kindly ask that you check in with us once a week to confirm your continued interest in our program.

When a room that meets your family's size requirements becomes available, our Program Director or a Case Manager will contact you to schedule your first interview. Our process includes two interviews, which are designed to help us get to know you and your family better, ensuring we can best support your needs. These interviews also provide an opportunity for you to fully understand our program and determine if it is the right fit for you and your children.

We look forward to hearing from you!
